I want to see this live! It's a symphony with samples and hella sh*t mashed together. raps are dope. Def worth a download. Check out Last One at the Bar. That's my anthem.
Hella SF
There are several more songs I wish had made it onto this album, but it's a great sample of the spectrum of talent these five jazz mobsters have. Every musician is stand-alone solid, and Dublin can freestyle coherent, intelligent rhymes faster than my brain can keep up. If you live in the Bay area, do yourself an enormous service and come out and see these guys. Various incarnations of a huge talent pool of supporting musicians perform several Tuesdays a month, all crammed onto a tiny stage in a narrow room at Bruno's, 20th and Mission. Nothing like head-nodding beats to wash down a glass of whiskey. Tuesday is the new Friday.
Great stuff
Awesome music - I went to college at SSU and the Jazz Mafia groups were always playing the small local clubs - Cannonball was a favorite, but is not making music these days. I think you can still get the music on jazzmafia.com. Jazz Mafia musicians have so much talent it's crazy. Also check out Groundation for reggae fans.
