What a great B-side!

Even though I live in LA and can actually go down the block and buy this single at Amoeba records, it'd cost $10. So I saved a cool $9 getting it here. Now you are wondering if this Baby Battle Scratch track is any good. I thought the 30 second sample sounds boring. But oh yeah, this track is killer. It has an rap on it off the 1984 song "Do or Die Bed Sty" by old school rap group Divine Sounds. I'd bet they left it off the album cos it sounds so hype it'd distract from the other songs, upset the flow. The song goes like this: a minute of build up, then the two guys start rapping, verses here, very fun, and then there's a sort of annoying women who sings "oh baby" too many times in a row, and then there are funky battling turntables, then our rappers reappear and sing a repeated chorus "it's like that girl, and you don't stop, let me see your body rock." If you like old school rap and you like Lemon Jelly, then this song is for you. As good or better than any song on the album (except maybe the shouty track ;-)
