iTunes Review

Once a founding member of New York’s Anti-Folk movement with a major-label contract, Paleface has since relocated to Concord, North Carolina and accepted his role as a slightly more conventional indie troubadour. (He was always a “folkie” at heart, despite the “anti” marketing tag). Joined by his girlfriend, drummer Monica Samalot, Paleface enjoys the quiet acoustic setting and still manages to make a raucous noise from the primitive campfire groove. “New York, New York” bids adieu to Manhattan. “Raise the Glass” shuts the door on his past alcoholism. “Traveling from North Carolina” updates the Paleface diary. And that’s what his songwriting has become — a personal diary set to music where the title track bears the weight of true experience and “Pondering the Night Sky” is exactly what’s left when the day is done. Paleface uses his limitations to express honest home truths (mostly recorded in a home studio) in a way that’s downright neighborly.

So much fun!

This is a great album! So many wonderful songs that make you want to get up and dance around. The others are sweet and soulful. Awesome work - buy it, see them live, you won't be disappointed!

High School Friend

This is an excellent piece of work. It shows off Paleface's unique voice in a variety of folky vibes. I'm not just saying that because I drank Mort's Quarts in his basement growing up. Nice work Pale
