Album Review

This collection brings together the theme songs to 16 of Autry's Republic and Columbia feature films. Besides the better-known tunes like "Tumbing Tumbleweeds," "Back In the Saddle Again" and "Down Mexico Way," this compilation also features great, but seldom-anthologized numbers like "Guns and Guitars," "Ride, Ranger, Ride," "Gaucho Serenade," "In Old Capistrano" and "Take Me Back to My Boots and Saddle." All pulled from the soundtracks ranging from 1935 to 1949, this collection finds Autry at the peak of his form.
