A music-meets-art conceptual project headed by Damon Albarn and comic book artist Jamie Hewlett, Gorillaz fuse multiple genres and bring them to life via four animated bandmates (2D, Noodle, Murdoc Niccals, and Russel Hobbs) and an elaborate, theatrical stage show. Over the course of 10 years, they've released four full-length albums, sold more than 15 million units, and collaborated with an extraordinarily diverse group of artists across multiple styles and generations. This collection includes all their hit singles, as well as several rare or unreleased remixes. Though Gorillaz' eccentric, beat-driven music is difficult to fully describe, it’s always compelling, especially on tracks with Hieroglyphics patriarch Del the Funky Homosapien ("Clint Eastwood"), golden-era icons De La Soul ("Feel Good Inc."), one-hit wonder Neneh Cherry ("Kids with Guns"), and soul legend Bobby Womack ("Stylo," also featuring Mos Def).

Great songs. If you don't know much by Gorillaz, this is your chance to get into some revolutionary stuff. The videos are awesome, too. All in all, for $15 bucks, this is probably one of the best deals going right now. Get it, end of story.

Gorillaz are awesome

10 years ago, Gorillaz first hit the market with a song called "Tomorrow Comes Today." It was off their self titled album which was released in the UK in March 2001 and in the US in June of 2001.

When the second single off this album "Clint Eastwood" was released, this song put the band on the map. It crossed over to many different radio formats, from Alternative Rock to Top-40 to College Radio and even Adult Album Alternative (or Triple A) The song peaked in the fall of 2001.

The music video for Clint Eastwood was ranked "#1 Most Played" on MTV-2 for the year 2001, and recieved healthy airplay on MTV, MTV-2, MuchMusic and even VH1.

The follow up to Clint Eastwood was 19-2000, which was a minor hit. The "Soulchild Remix" of 19-2000 still gets played to this day on alternative rock radio.

After a long wait, in May of 2005 their second album Demon Days was released. The first single Feel Good Inc was highly successful, catchy, and is still played on Alternative Rock radio. Other songs from Demon Days include the followup Dare, El Manana and Kids With Guns.

Their third album Plastic Beach wasn't as highly successful on the radio, however it contained many great songs. Unique ones at that, including but not limited to Stylo, Broken, On Melancholy Hill and Rhinestone Eyes.

This album features the biggest hit singles from Gorillaz, from the beginning (Tomorrow Comes Today) to On Melancholy Hill. Also included are remixes of Clint Eastwood (The Ed Case Refix was a hidden track on the first album) and the Soulchild Remix of 19-2000 which was released on their "G Sides" EP.

As a bonus, all of their music videos, along with promotional videos, live performances and the Channel 4 special "Charts Of Darkness" are included here.

This is a must for any Gorillaz fan.
