The Dark Side
Hey, we've all got a little evil in us right? Nourish it, my friends. Buy this album.
I think one of the most impressive things about this album is that Christian has taken into account the way "darker" lyrics should be presented, the kind of music in which they most fittingly exist. The lyrics are Slytherin but so is the sound. If you finish this album unconvinced that these people mean business in the killing department, then you probably forgot to press "Play".
Mind-blowing.
Though a definite departure in style from OBatR's normal pop tunes, the quality is no less high.
From the sultry "'Til Death" to the hard-rocking "Spells and Scars" -- which has a trace of the Doctor Who theme in the chorus, for all of you Whovians!-- and "Don't Make It Hard, to the chillingly beautiful "Without You" the danceable "Flight of the Prince"...all of it is amazing, and definitely worth every cent, if not more.
