Whoa!
I am completely in love with this album. Did not expect such a genre bender to appeal to me but I went out on a limb and bought this album. We Still Burn's last minute and a half are truly phenomenal, the appearance of Gina Marie kicks this song into an amazing place that I cannot get enough of. Be sure to grab No More, Pt 2 for a fantastic electronic exhibition by Energy Alchemist....Carter's vocals on this track and The Sound really stand out, this cat can sing! Finally the guitar work on Grace Awakes sets Top Shelf apart, I wish all guitar solos and rhythms were handled with such care in reggae/alternative music. Can California do any wrong???????

Wow.... it starts of subtle and then increase moment gradually till it’s a full on Reggae Rock album!! There guitar licks are sick, the bass rifts are phat, the lyrics are deep and the drums sure can rock a beat! It is amazing how they stuffed so many different SOUNDs in to THE SOUND. Top Shelf just went up in my book… here’s a band to watch out for because they’re coming! My final conclusion is that The Sound is like a fine red wine it only gets better with time. Happy listening!
