You're asking me to believe in so many things...
Since you all already know the splendors of Bejar's "The Spirit of Giving" I'll pitch that the two B-sides are the real treasure here. "Joseph, Who Understood" is a tiny miracle in its own right, staging a three-minute small town drama about skepticism, faith, sexual insecurity, and impossible hope with beautiful pop hooks, a delightfully baroque arrangement, and lovely male-female harmonies. The cover/medley of Chilliwack's "Arms of Mary" also plays on some hilariously uncomfortable double-entendres of desire and reverence (as mentioned by another reviewer) and ends with a quiet and yet joyously noisy coda.

Joseph, Who Understood is an incredible song! Acoustic guitar, harmonies, familiar NP voices... It's a great holiday song!
