Album Review
The String Quartet Tribute to Coldplay applies violin, viola, cello, and bass to instrumental versions of the band's most memorable moments. While standouts include "Shiver" and "In My Place," "Yellow" might be best. While the original song's gorgeous, gradually unfolding melody is present and accounted for, the performers here have added a new, even more plaintive layer to the verses, giving their rendition a stately air. It's like the theme music to that scene in every Ivy League college drama, when the camera swoops over the quad and through the autumnal leaves to find its hero rushing to class in a scarf and corduroy jacket.

good arranging
this is sooo well done. Although, if you're looking for regular rock beats stick with the originals. I'm planning a wedding with 2 very different families... one is conservative christian - so rock beats would offend them, but i want something for everyone to not be bored by. these are great to keep both happy.
Amazing, beautiful & powerful stuff.
What a genius idea: taking beautifully-written songs and turning them into little cinematic orchestral-esque pieces. If you like soundtrack-type music, you can't live without this album. It's just the most amazing stuff, and I normally get into stuff like Kerry Muzzey, Hans Zimmer, James Horner, that sort of thing. There's no way you can NOT like this album. If I were Coldplay, I would record vocals to these string pieces -- now THAT would be powerful!
Baeutiful
This album is a type of music its nearly impossible not to enjoy. It is a fantastic mix of genres and rhythms. I would't call it rock, though. If you want rock look somewhere else. If you do buy this, check out Clocks and Shiver. This album is both beautiful and origianal. I suggest it for anyone.
