Album Review

As with their other releases, on A Tenors Christmas, the Three Tenors — José Carreras, Plácido Domingo, and Luciano Pavarotti — share the spotlight on some songs and take it individually on others. "Oh Tannenbaum" and "Silent Night" are among their standout performances as a trio; soloist highlights include Pavarotti's "Tu Scendi Dalle Stelle," Carreras' "Pregaria," and Domingo's "Un Nuevo Siglo." The Tenors are at their best on A Tenors Christmas when performing traditional holiday songs and holiday pop numbers; their version of John Lennon's "Happy Christmas/War Is Over" is somewhat awkward, but fortunately most of the album delivers holiday cheer with a dramatic, operatic flair.

Perfect

This is the original recording of the Three Tenors concert in Vienna. Took a while to find as it wasn't shown under my original search for The Three Tenors, but it's perfect for Christmas decorating rituals around the house and watching the snow fall. The sound quality is as good as it gets for digital recordings. Their voices are so powerful at times it gives me the chills and makes my arm hair stand on end. Highly recommend purchasing instead of the other versions available through iTunes.
