Another great one!

One thing you can expect from Glen Burtnik - he writes from his heart. "The Trouble With Sally" is another fine example of Glen's ability to take real life and spin it into a wonderful song. Rootsy and mostly acoustic, the song is also yet another of Glen's that denies categorization. Lyrically, the song is about Glen' daughter Sally, and the trials and tribulations that come with being the parent of a daughter in her late teens. But as much as it is about Sally, it seems to be even moreso about Glen himself. Musically, the song is wonderfully diverse - featuring acoustic guitar, dobro slide, strings - a feel-good, uptempo stomp! Not really rock, but not really country either, I don't know what you would call this type of music - new-folk, roots-rock, or some other hyphenated descriptor. I just call it great!

It'll stick in your head

Glen has a knack for writing and recording tunes that seem to lodge into that musical part of your brain. The part that makes you hum or tap without even realizing your doing it. This song is definitely one of those sticky tunes that's already getting comfortable in that ipod-in-my-brain. Great melody and textures. Love the pickin' and slidin' guitar!

Glen is the best!

Glen is a top notch talent and phenomenal songwriter. I met John Waite recently and told him you two should do an album together!
