Impeccable tonality and style
I recommend this album for its excellent sound quality, true interpretation and perfectly executed performance. On nearly every track, the performance is exactly how I imagined it, and for those songs with which I wasn't familiar I was provided with a quality classical experience. For a voyage through the best and most well-known of Tchaikovsky, as the album's name implies, this is the one to buy. As it so happens, I bought this album only for the performance of the 1812 Overture – the tonality of the strings attracted me to this version. The quality of the rest of the album lived up to my expectations.
Lovely...
Lovely...this album is just plainly lovely. Loved Swan Lake: Waltz, Violin Concerto: Finale, Romeo & Juliet Overture, Nutcraker: Waltz of the Flowers, and all the other. If I could do it, I'd give this album 6 stars. This are truly, the best of Tchaikovsky...
Perfection
I'm glad I need to type this; I'm otherwise left speechless. I've been seeking a worthy performance of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake and the 1812 for more than a couple of years. Simply put, this is the best I have ever heard. I reccomend high quality over-the-ear headphone for this one. You'll miss far too much without them. If you don't jump out of your chair with the last 3:01 of the 1812, call the doctor. You're dead.
