Pick a style please!
I don't want to be harsh or cruel with this review, but this album is all over the place. Nikhil drifts from African music to funk, to Gospel, and doesn't really nail any of them. While his voice is strong, to me it sounds as if he is over singing. The songs lack structure and way too long. I regret purchasing it.
Worst album ever! half a star!
can't stand this horrible music. the lead singer is trying too hard. the horn section is awful aswell.
The best music purchase I've made in a long time
I purchased this cd after seeing NKBand in concert, which was incredible! The depth and texture of the music is intense--at times incredibly uplifting and, at others, reflective and humble. NK's sound is not trying to be anything but unique, so comparisons need not apply. This is a band to watch. Oh, and those who think the songs are too long, open your mind--just because we listeners are used to being fed 3-minute songs by the big production companies doesn't mean we're not worthy of more! Buy this cd, you will not be disappointed.
