Not everyone has heard the live versions. Or even the studio ones. What's old to one is new to another. That's the great thing about music. Write a composition on that.
Wont Get Fooled Again
This is a band that over it's 45 year history has released 8 albums with it's classic line up and another 3 since Keith Moon's death. 11. Total. Yet, this is the 30th-something repackage of the Who catalog. If you think this for some OTHER reason than to line the pockets of the record company then you are foolish. Yes, they were great and yes - Live at Leeds is arguably the greatest rock live album of all time (other nominations: Live at Filmore East-Allman Bros., Get Your Ya-Ya's out-Stones, Made in Japan-Deep Purple, Live at Budokan-Cheap Trick) but most people have these songs, and if they dont - there are much better versions available. Since todays youth are adept at downloading and usually just buy the tracks they want (when they actually "buy" them at all) these labels have no choice but to exploit the aging, less technology saavy baby boomers. That means lots of repackages of "classic" rock bands like The Who.
A must for all Who fans!
This album captures the raw and gritty performances of the band after their rise to fame. The more recent tracks show how the band refined their live sound without compromising the energy of the music. It is easy for the listener to understand how the band rose to greatness and is an example of the bands longevity. For the long time Who fan "hope I die before I get old" is'nt about age - its about an attitude. Long live rock!
