iTunes Review
One of the most commercially successful Christian emcees, Philly artist Da'T.R.U.T.H. has cranked out spiritually minded hip-hop since 2004, when he dropped his debut EP, Who Is the Truth. Over the years he’s collaborated with similarly minded acts, including The Cross Movement, Kirk Franklin, and The Ambassador, among others. Da Whole Truth is his fifth album and bubbles with glossy, pop-inspired production and deep lyricism heavy on themes of faith, struggle, and redemption. Sonically, he sounds like he'd fit right next to Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, or Kanye West on any mainstream urban radio station, with an assortment of brassy beats, rowdy guitar crunches, club-centric synth squeals, and the obligatory Auto-Tune enhancement. If you like the sound of popular rap music but can't deal with the stereotypical negative messages, this is right up your alley. "Alive (Remix)," "Do It for You," "Ain't Goin' Back," and "God Is Good" are all standouts.

Exceptional
This is what music is supposed to do. This album is a vivid portrait of a man pressing through his road to redemption. There is something in this album for everyone, lyrically and musically. Every track has a message that will touch your heart and spirit, not in a condemning way, but in a way that is so relatable and intimate. I took a detour when I got it in the mail, pulled up in a nearby park and took the time to listen to this album, to listen to the messages he was trying to get across. I sat there for an hour and cried. I cried for him and then for some personal wounds this album helped me realize were still open and that needed healing. This is his best album yet! Before this released I predicted this album to be the "Thriller" of Christian music. I believe I got that one correct. No album in the history of recording has moved me this much! You surely want to pick this up!
Second Best Truth!
Okay, so I own all of his albums. Actually hilarious story. I HATED Christian Hip Hop, because of Gospel Gangstas, T-Bone and them dudes! I thought that stuff is trash! Well, I stumbled across Lecrae here the DFW before his first album release and said well some of these dudes got talent. He had the Cross Movement album playing and told me about that record label. I immediately went and bought truth blind and my love for Holy Hip Hop began (and my bromance with Cross Movement Records LOL). Anyway, the first album will always be my favorite sort of like Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt (and yes I think the first album is about as consistent and well put together as that album). Somewhere along the lines it seems dude lost his passion and just became blaaahh.. but this album puts him back in my favorites category. Not that the other albums were bad, but they were just okay. This is album is about as consistent and well put together and subject matter is heart warming. I am glad to see dude not throw in the towel after his struggles. Christ covers our sins and by grace motivates us to love Him and others. I think Grace has been abused so much we forget that it is the essential cornerstone in our faith! 12 of the tracks are good, about 8 are superb. I would give it 5 but I just refrain from that for principle's sake!

Da 'T.R.U.T.H. has NOT done it again! No, this is something refreshingly different!
Returning from a huge scandal that affected him in every possible way, Da 'T.R.U.T.H. has found redemption in Christ, and that redemption has bleed through the pencil of each lyric he as written without omission in "The Whole Truth"!
The album will take you through a journey of Brokeness (#1 Lights), to Redemption (#6 Forgiveness), to Regeneration ( #9 Brainwashed), to Victory! (#13 Alive)
The lyrics are intentional and heartfelt. They WILL demand attention! This is not an album to listen to while studying!
The amazing beats are no surprise as they have always accompanied his songs! This album has a slight techno feel.
Speaking of accompaniments, the albums contains a wide range of talented featured artists.
What can we say? After a beautiful Psalm 51 by a broken David, what sort of album do you expect from a broken rapper redeemed by Christ?
Get it now! Buy it now. Give it to someone else!
"The Whole Truth", written by a captive that is now free, guided by the Spirit who reveals "The Truth" that sets all free!
