one of the best records of all time
Colin Smith's new album "The Wilderness" is definitely one of the best records of all time. The production is perfectly timeless yet relevant and stands up to the mainstream music we hear everyday. Colin's songwriting is beautiful and poetic, and his voice is so good its is NOT normal, and on top of all that, it just feels so good to hear a group of musicians playing music together and creating something organic and passionate. I can only think that this is what music is supposed to be like. Well done!
One of those voices you never forget...
I recall the first tme I heard Colin's voice, via a myspace page for (mr. north). Wow. His voice is as real as they come. I've always known Colin to be great at what he does, but he blew me away with this album. My favorite song thus far is "Come Back" - his voice goes on forever. This man is one-of-a-kind, a gem, in the midst of all the garbage that is out there. -Jen Ramos
FINALLY!
I first saw Colin at The Living Room in NYC in 2008--when he sang The Wilderness, it almost brought me to tears. His voice is amazing, unique, painful, fantastic-and his songs are simply wonderful. Stone Faces and The Wilderness are two of my favorite songs of all time and I can't stop listening! I'm so glad he finally got the album out and I hope he gets his due as a solo artist!
