The ghosts of dead teenagers...

Trust. I remember hearing when My Favorite broke up, I remember just being heartbroken. I remember rumors of an album called "God Save the Runaways" and being hugely disappointed that I would never hear it. I heard they had formed a new band with a new singer, and I just wasn't sure. I didn't have faith. The EP was good, but My Favorite had quickly become one of my favorite bands, and the EP didn't catch me like that. Then came this album.

It doesn't feel like My Favorite. It didn't have to. This is music to recapture youth. This is music for people who loved The Smiths and The Cure. Just a brilliant album, and an amazing continuation of a band I will always carry a torch for.

Nice Find

A real interesting discovery. The subtle guitar interplay reminds of early 80s Brit bands that hovered just below the top of the pops but still made brilliant music. The drumming and keys hark back to the same era. There's a Belle & Sebastian meets Haircut 100 meets Future Bible Heroes meets forgotten chanteuse from another time quality that really works here. The best part is, this collection of songs reveals a complex story on repeated listens. And the harmonies linger long after the musics over.

If you love the smiths...

Sounds like a combination of morrisy and Patti Smith. Love it!

Another vocalist, Erin Dermody, completed the Secret History's...
