Customer Reviews

Im about to have a nervous breakdown, my head really hurts!

Okay, okay everyone needs to take a breath and relax. Here is a song by song review to help people who don't quite get it. 1) Boy's No Good- Not a great song, but it was a leftover B-side from The Sufferer and the Witness, so if it was a leftover song that they decided to leave off of the album, it's obviously not going to be on par with the songs that did make the cut. 2)Fix Me- I know this song is getting complaints about not sounding like Rise Against, well that may be because it isn't. It is a Black Flag song which they covered. 3)Obstructed View- The only actual new song by Rise Against on the album and it's a pretty good one. I wonldn't expect it to be on their new full length c.d. though 4)But Tonight We Dance- Once again another B-side from The Suffer and the Witness, and it's a great song. Very Rise Against 5)Nervous Breakdown- This is yet again another Black Flag cover that they recorded for the movie Lords of Dogtown, and its a great song and a great cover

Rise Against is Awesome!

Rise Against is one of those bands where their music never disapoints. I've been waiting for this EP for a long time! After seeing them on tour, they're awesome! Their songs are amazing and their CDs are incredible. This EP comes with songs that you may or may not have heard already. Two Black Flag covers, "Fix Me" and "Nervous Breakdown" are awesome covers. "Fix Me" was in the Tony Hawk's Wasteland video game and CD, while "Nervous Breakdown" is on the Lords of Dogtown CD. "Boy's No Good" is a lifetime cover, which Rise Against is amazing. The other remaining songs are B-Sides from their CD's "Sufferer and the Witness" and "Sirens Song of the Counter Culture". These songs are amazing. It's sad how they won't bring out more B-Side songs, instead of songs we already have heard in the past. Though, nothingless, if you haven't heard these songs before, get them, they are fully worth it. They are amazing, and they really get your fist pumpin'. I can't wait for their new CD, set to be scheduled Fall 2008!!! Rise Against is awesome!

Not Bad For B-Sides and Covers

All these songs were previously released either on soundtracks or were b-sides on earlier albums. My personal favorite is 'But Tonight We Dance,' which was first heard on UK versions of "The Sufferer and the Witness." 'Fix Me' is a classic, drawn from Rise Against's roots. It was originally performed by Black Flag and was recorded by Rise Against as a part of a Tony Hawk soundtrack. All tracks are as usual, awesome. The only track I don't like on the EP is Boy's No Good. Otherwise, a great purchase and addition to your library.

Chicago's Rise Against began in 1999 when ex-88 Fingers Louie bassist Joe Principe tapped area vocalist Tim McIlrath for a new project rooted in the sound and social vision of traditionalist hardcore. Joined by fellow 88 Fingers vet Dan Precision on guitar and, eventually, drummer Brandon Barnes, Rise Against signed to Fat Wreck and issued The Unraveling in 2001. Precision left the band that same year to be replaced by Todd Mohney. Extensive touring followed, leading to their sophomore outing, 2002's...
