ARE U SHITTING ME?

In many artist that I've followed in my lifetime there's been a line between progression and just plain abandoning previous style for a more mainstream sound, which in most cases completely misses the mark. You'll find none of that in "This is Our Science." While the methodology is similar to his previous efforts, there is an ominous energy that looms throughout every track which radiates the freshness and relevance that Andy brings to the table. After listening and being astonished by earlier albums I was left wondering what more he could possibly bring to the table. The answer is an entirely unique experience piloted by powerful and thought provoking lyrics woven atop paralyzing synth beats and catchy, but not poppy choruses. After months of anticipation for the album, I'm left without the slightest hint of disappointment as I am often accustomed to with other artists. Oddly enough the sky is NOT the limit for astronautalis. Rather, as his name may suggest, the limit seems to reside somewhere in the deepest reaches of space.

It really is our science.

I am so glad to see where Astro has come. This album exceeded all of my expectations! I did not think I could love an album as much as I loved Pomegranate. Well, I was wrong (in the best way possible)!

It was only after having chosen the name Astronautalis for himself while in high school in Jacksonville, FL, that the rapper (born Andy Bothwell) began to make himself heard in the local circuit, winning battles and competing at the Scribble Jam. Though he was known for his witty freestyling, Astronautalis' musical influences and interests fell outside the hip-hop realm, as well, and he performed on the Warped Tour for three years.
