One out of two ain't bad

I have to admit, I hit the buy button as soon as I saw the names Harris and Knopfler together on the album cover. These are two of my favorite vocalists recording together...I mean, how cool is that? I was a bit disappointed with the first track This Is Us, but that let down was quickly forgotten upon listening to All the Roadrunning. What a great tune! It has everything I look for in a great Alternative/Folk/Country song: sorrow, regret, reflection and cautious hopefulness in what still might be. Skip track 1, but track 2 is a must have for your library.

Knopfler has always had Nashville in his heart

From a long time Dire Straits fan this is gonna be an amazing album. Mark Knopfler is such a wonderful song writer. Everything he does is great. Him and Emmylou have been working on this record for a while now and its gonan be well worth the wait. This first single "This is Us" its a great tune. Its about a couple going through their wedding photo album, very cool idea. So if you're a Knopfler fan and you love Emmylou's vocals then this is one not to pass up. The full album will be released on April 25th with a small US tour to follow! ENJOY!

Nice Surprise!

Some people surf the web, I surf iTunes. This was a nice surprise. As a singer/songwriter, I am always interested in new songs that touch me, no matter the genre. I recommend these 2 songs...peaceful & pretty.

Though other performers sold more records and earned greater fame, few left as profound an impact on contemporary music as Emmylou Harris. Blessed with a crystalline voice, a remarkable gift for phrasing, and a restless creative spirit, she traveled a singular artistic path, proudly carrying the torch of "cosmic American music" passed down by her mentor, Gram Parsons. With the exception of only Neil Young — not surprisingly an occasional collaborator — no other mainstream star established...
