The Best of 2002
If you are looking for music with rich texture and angelic quality, you've come to the right place. Tracks like "Suddenly Yours" and "Dreaming of You" give me chills each time I listen to their breathy choir and sparkling piano. The epic sounds of "Sunny Day", "Children In Time", and "A Gate of Dreams" will pick you up and wisk you away to a beautiful realm from which you won't want to return. 2002 has produced magnificent and stunning works of art, but none compare to the songs of "This Moment Now". You definitely will not be let down!
Gorgeous dreamlike quality
2002 may have "hints of Enya-ness" in some tracks...but what they also bring to the mix are soaring angelic vocals, layers of superb guitar and flute, and interesting rhythms and textures..."Sunny Day" with it's sunlit galloping cadence and angel chorus sounds like flying through a blue sky on a cloud...it is that incredible! But my "10 stars" goes to "Children in Time" for its powerful tapestry....full of blissful guitar and heavenly chordal progression...it is truly an amazing piece of daydreaming music...so thoughtful and beautiful. 2002 songs are all gems , but several are the rarest of diamonds...listen to some other 2002 albums...they have diamonds on every album, in my opinion...look for them!
Bliss
If this album is your introduction to 2002, you'll be blown away, because it's light years ahead of most of the other "new age" music out there. If you've heard some of their other (more recent) albums, then this one may pale a bit in comparison, just because they've continued to grow and improve with each additional release (although "Land of Forever" is still my personal favorite). Nonetheless, there are some beautiful songs on this release, and there could be no better title for the track "Bliss." This track is restrained beauty in its purest form, and has become one of my all-time favorites by 2002.
