Unsung Great Band From An Era Of Great Bands.

Servicable (pun intended) compilation from a great mid 80's band that originated at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb Illinois. They definately forged their own sound at a time when college "heartland rock" was coming into it's own. Big Dipper, Dump Truck, The Catheads, etc. If you are a fan of early era REM, you will enjoy this. I have to admit that I lean towards the early era records from this band, when Dave Briggs had the mike. Post Briggs, they actually held up very well due to Rick Mosher's songwriting acumen. "Truck" "Trouble Begins" "Death Walks" "Last Hitch" and the beautiful "October House" should not be missed.

who on earth would buy this... "music??"

Johnny thought they were cool

Courageous work, and inventive sound. Difficult to define but easy to enjoy. Sounds to me like they were having a blast while sharing stories of teenage angst, mixed with Black Label Beer. Tin pan piano and tuba blended with Rock and Roll rhythms, who would have thunk it?

I heard Johnny Ramone say he thought they were cool at a bar in metro Chicago. Then Johnny made my ears bleed! Imagin that..... while you listen
