Great Job Dave...
ALO drummer Dave Brogan steps out from behind the drum kit and plays acoustic guitar in his own band. Dave has way writing songs as you ALO fans already know. There is so much soul in Dave's voice and his guitar playing can lead to some serious jams. Some other contributer's to this album Jackie Greene & Paul Hogelin (Mother Hips).
Like ALO, Zach Gill, Jack Johnson, or funky, inspiring, well written music? Buy it...
So far, this album is great. Like ALO, but not the same, this album is full of great songs with cool lyrical ideas, accessible melody, interesting arrangements and playing, and sweetness, funkiness, and tightness. Similar to bandmate Zach Gill's much more heavily promoted solo debut, "Stuff," this album is even better, and I think "Stuff" was pretty good. BUY IT, if you haven't noticed, in iTunes, where it would say the label, it says simply Dave Brogan. It's good.

Dave Brogan is the drummer for ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra). This is his first solo album, and it just confirms how talented he is. For ALO fans, the music will feel familiar -- happy, sometimes funny, funky, other times soft and sweet. Easy was my first favorite ("Easy, don't push, don't shove, just try to lay back and love, your life for a minute...") Tehachapi Mountain and In My Bed Tonight are soft, sweet and gentle. Pemberton Steps has that ALO groove. Stony Fields makes me think of Rod Stewart. Broken Record will make you laugh. There's something for everyone. Check it out, you won't be disappointed! If you are not familiar with ALO, the guys went to UCSB together (also with Jack Johnson). Zach Gill is another ALOer that recently released Zach Gill's Stuff, which is also wonderful. Zach also plays keyboards with Jack. Zach, Dave, Dan and Steve make magical music together, and separately, too!
