Absolutely amazing!
I normally don't listen to this kind of music. I'm normally rocking to metal/hardcore or alternative stuff but love with this album. I was first introduced to Mandi's music at David Platt's secret church, where she was a worship leader. I fell in love with her voice and song writing ability. Her voice has a very genuine and unique sound to it, I would compare it to Rachel of He Is We. Her song writing is amazing, I would say some of the best in Christian pop. She writes using real theology and testimony instead of the normal boring "Jesus, god, love" of most Christian pop/worship.
Favorite tracks: stranger, take me away, where you are, and story of love.
Delightful and Refreshing
This is a delightful and refreshing album. Unlike several other reviewers, I have neither met Mandi Mapes nor heard of her until coming across this compilation. I am impressed by her obvious musical gifts. I am even more impressed by what she has created in this album. These songs are full of thoughtful and interesting lyrics, skillful arrangements and flat-out good music. Mandi Mapes has something to say and she says it well. More importantly, she seems to know the One about whom she sings. It is nice to hear a Christian artist who smoothly incorporates sound theology (i.e. truth about God) into her music. It is even better when it sounds this good. Personal favorites include In Your Arms, This Love, Stranger and Hollywood. If you don't like creativity, variety and truth in your music, this album is not for you. For this rest of us, this album is well worth hearing and buying.
