Album Review

On her most ambitious album, Mattea gets impeccably chosen songs (as usual) and strong supporting performances (from Emmylou Harris, Dougie MacLean, and the Roches). She doesn't write her own stuff, so she may not be the romantic dreamer of "Asking Us to Dance," but she sure sounds like it. Songs like "Time Passes By," co-written by husband Jon Vezner, suggest there's more honesty here than image. She can even make the half-baked "From a Distance" convincing.

It IS #1

The best song of her Career open's this album while a sorta of strange one proceedes it. 'Time Passes By' speaks of the honest to God truth about life, the world, people and years. All songs are terrific here perfect for winding down or just relaxing. 'Summer of My Dream's is simple and profound 'Harley' is a great story song while 'Ready for the Storm' still gives me chills, amazing version of 'From a Distance' it gets no more folk music than that song.

Great Stuff!

One of my first introductions to Kathy Mattea's music, this remains a timeless collection of her fine voice and unique sound. Not usually one who listens to Country music, I could listen to this every day and let it lift my spirits the way few do. A MUST HAVE album!

Amazing

Ode to my grandmother. The is self-explanatory if you don't understand then you're not living your life to the fullest. I'm referring to "Time passes by"
