iTunes Review
Taking Dawn's preference for dark denim and faded black t-shirts recalls the aesthetic simplicity of early Metallica. Their music, however, is unapologetically inspired by the Aqua Netted androgens of Sunset Strip’s heyday. Taking Dawn’s debut Time to Burn rips open with one hell of a title-track as four-part vocal harmonies ascend like Def Leppard’s flawlessly congruent attunements, before taking on more anthemic fist-pumpers such as “Like a Revolution.” Stadium-worthy “Take Me Away” sounds tailored for arenas as their melodies soar like fighter jets under face-melting guitarmonies that would make Thin Lizzy proud. But the modern mix here keeps Taking Dawn from sounding like complete throwbacks. Producer Michael Baskette keeps things big and bombastic, making for a sonance relevant enough for the band to tour with Dragonforce, All That Remains and Theory of a Dead Man. Their cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain” approximates Mötley Crüe experimenting with grunge while their bonus cover of KISS’ “Black Diamond” almost rivals the original.

Great band, I'm amazed Taking Dawn isn't bigger then they are, BUY THIS ALBUM, YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED
So good it hurts!
This is simply put a hard rocking album that will have you banging your head with fists in the air shouting out the words on your way to work in the morning. I've watched these guys go from playing in dirty bars in dirtier parts of Las Vegas to rocking it with the likes of Dragonforce and All That Remains. They have poured their heart, blood, and hormones...into there music and it shows on their debut. Do yourself and the guy in traffic next to you a favor and pick this album up now! Let's show the world that Las Vegas knows how to produce a good band. And as always, Fight' Em With Your Rock!!! (P.S. Check out one of their shows. No other band in history has ever got a pit going during The Chain.)
Just Awesome
Saw these guys with LAcuna Coil and All that Remains, I had heard Godless, Time to Burn and Like a Revolution before the show and that got me psyched about these guys enough to drive 6 hours to Fargo ND and get mee excited enough to wait, I was not dissappointed in their live show, and this cd surprised me in a great way I was waiting for the hard headbanging, punch your mom sound of Time to Burn throughout the disc but it has a great variation of sound from hard rocking to mellower vocals.
Great album best I have heard in years.
