TOLD YA SO is the right title for this new release from Canada’s best-known horn player Gabriel Mark Hasselbach (you can call him Gabriel)… because we have been telling ya for many years now that the Juno Award-winning GMH is fiery and smoldering. With more than a dozen solo releases, Gabriel has a distinct sound to his playing… sophisticated, warm and sexy on all of the instruments he plays (trumpet, flute, flugelhorn, trombone and digital winds). Combine that with Gabriel’s special guests Jeff Lorber, Paul Brown, Marc Antoine and Darren Rahn and you’ve got a flammable contemporary jazz cocktail of sultry, exciting and smooth. The album opens with a chilled out version of “Papa Was A Rolling Stone” (currently being featured on SmoothLounge.com) and flows right into the project’s first single, the tasty, upbeat “Rockin’ The Ribjoint,” followed by twelve more tunes the provide a desirable soundtrack to your world. Don’t make us tell ya so again… this is a must have from a proven success!
