iTunes Review

"Because their songs bubble and bounce with similarly sweet electro-tinged, indie-minded, Euro-pop, Two Door Cinema Club get many apt comparisons to Phoenix. Also, Alex Trimble's androgynous singing sounds like sibling vocals of Phoenix's Thomas Mars. But TDCC hardly shy away from their influences, which allows them some room to find their own footing. The hyper up-tempo ""Cigarettes In the Theatre"" opens with perfect pop aplomb, boasting a sophisticated trumpet solo reminiscent of ‘80s New Romantic bands. But Trimble sings with a vacuum-tight phrasing of his own style, and it totally works. ""Come Back Home"" grooves on the same kind of post-punk death-disco revived by bands like Franz Ferdinand but nicely contrasted with sunny melodies and robotic synths that would have Daft Punk's approval. Well worthy of putting on a dance mix, ""Something Good Can Work"" is a standout with its undeniably contagious rhythms, soaring chorus and Trimble's flawless phrasing acting as another rhythmic element. Try it!

This whole album is a hit.

gonna be one of the best albums of the year

These guys have hit the fine line that divides Vampire Weekend and Phoenix. Definitely a unique band to keep your eyes on for the years to come.
