Album Review

The Definitive Greatest Hits: Til the Last Shot’s Fired is a 28-track double-disc set that contains almost every one of Trace Adkins' charting country singles for Capitol Nashville between 1996 and 2009. The only single missing is 2000’s “I’m Gonna Love You Anyway,” a tune that climbed no higher than 36 on the Billboard charts, so it’s not missed, particularly when the rest of Til the Last Shot’s Fired serves up all the other big songs — “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing,” “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,” “I Left Something Turned on at Home,” “The Rest of Mine,” “I’m Tryin’,” “Songs About Me,” “Then They Do,” “Ladies Love Country Boys,” and “You’re Gonna Miss This” among them — and rounds up a few choice album tracks to make for an overview of his peak that is indeed definitive.

THIS IS COUNTRY

This is real country music, Taylor Swift should listen to this type of music so she can learn how country music really sounds like.. 5+ STARS TO THIS ALBUM

Superb Collection

Trace Adkins has created an impressive collection of quality songs sung with heart, humor, and honesty throughout his years with Capitol Records. This collection is a must buy for any Adkins fan. The only fault with this collection is with Capitol itself ~~ it's a shame the label progressively put less and less effort into supporting Adkins until he was virtually navigating his career and recordings solo but still shackled to them. This collection is truly Capital's way of capitalizing on Adkins's new success with his new label. Hurrah for Adkins ~~ Shame on Capital.

***I liked it***

I like this album and I'm not even a country fan! I've always like Trace mainly because of his outlaw attitude. I really like country with an edge, because the rock now a days lacks soul or passion! There's a few artists out there that I feel that I can relate to and Trace Adkins is one of them along with Jason Aldean, Toby Keith, Brantly Gilbert, and a few others. Thanks Road Lizard

Trace Adkins helped keep country's traditionalist flame burning during the crossover-happy late '90s, mixing classic honky tonk with elements of gospel, blues, and rock & roll. Adkins was born in the small Louisiana town of Sarepta in 1962 and took up the guitar at an early age; he went on to study music at Louisiana Tech, where he also played football and worked on an offshore oil rig after graduating. His finger was severed in an accident while on the job, and once several years had passed,...
