Jack White > good musician > prunes > toadstool > limp bizkit

Comparing Jack White to Limp Bizkit is a strawman: it is impossible to compare a brilliant musician to, say, a toadstool.

are you kidding?? I'm STOKED for this album...

Really? Comparisons to Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit? I don't get it. I can understand what people mean when they say this song reminds them of some 90's alt composition, but really, I have no idea why any Jack White or Kills fan would be turned off by this. Personally, I wouldn't compare this to Linkin Park or Limp or any of those (IMHO, really terrible) bands AT all. It's more like Rage Against the Machine, but sexed up. Way sexed up. Allison Mosshart and Jack White just ooze attitude, and it sounds like they're all having a blast playing an original song of theirs that breaks what is expected of all of them in terms of genre. Is it the greatest tune? No. But damned if they don't pull it off. Such beautiful, low sustain coming from Dean Fertita's guitar!

The More I Listen To It, The More I LOVE It

When I first heard that The Dead Weather would include Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs), Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age), AND Jack White; I knew their music would be something to look forward to, and I was completely right. I love this song! It reminds me of Jack White's old band, The Upholsters, but with a slightly different edge. I can't wait for Horehound to come out on July 14th and for their Nashville concert on July 30th!!!

Another project founded by Jack White, Dead Weather began after the Raconteurs toured the U.S. with the Kills in summer 2008. Toward the end of the tour, bronchitis made it difficult for White to sing as much as usual, so Kills singer Alison Mosshart was drafted to sing several of his songs. Mosshart's on-stage chemistry with the Raconteurs led to White, Mosshart, bassist "Little Jack" Lawrence, and White's house guest, Queens of the Stone Age guitarist Dean Fertita, recording a cover of Gary Numan's...
