My Review (like it matters)

Vibraphone! Frankly, I cannot believe I beat Carrie P to the punch, getting in the first review. Here goes...
Hearing a unique performer grow as an artist is a wonderful journey that we listeners get to partake in without having to do all the soul-scathing writing and hand-blistering practicing of instruments musical. This is what art is supposed to be when devoid of corporate involvement; edgy and tough, challenging yet accessible, educating and just plain fun to groove to, and lots of laughs as well. Buying this album supports the artist directly. I'll be buying a CD copy for the car as well, which should tell you what I think of this music.
Knowing Geo's open distain for standing ovations, I have deducted one star from this review.
Lush, eclectic and *WELL* worth a listen

First off, a little context for those folks not familar with the maestro, George Hrab. He is a man of many talents and hats (in no particular order): a musician, songwriter, podcaster, skeptic, and openly speaks his mind about his beliefs. Those who want to tell him how much they appreciate his work use the code word "Vibraphone."
Now my review.
Vibraphone!
This is an "album" in a sense of, what is these days, a somewhat obscure usage. When I was your age, an album was a collection of songs that the artist used to lead you through a theme, from one idea to the next. The artist guiding you, and revealing his intent to you, step by step. That is what Geo does here. Trebuchet is, at differt times: intensely personal, wry and ironically observant, and joyous about the universe and world we live in. Allow Geo to take your musical hand and follow along. It's a trip well worth taking.
Extra credit for the guest vocals by the Bad Astronomer, Phil Plait. Hearing him here just feeds my "man crush" on Phil even more.
Geo puts himself and his work out there for free. At least two podcasts that I know of feature the album in it's entirity. THAT is why you should buy the album. Give Geo your money, support independant artists, and help Geo make more great music.
I personally will be buying a CD copy of this work as well. I'm certain there are musical and sonic nuances in the mix and engineering of Slau that I am missing in the MP3 version. I want to hear the music and read the liner notes as the artist intended. (Something else that made albums special...when I was your age)
Gets better with each listen

This is an album for smart people. That doesn't mean you have to be smart to listen to it, but if you are, you won't be disappointed by mundane lyrics or easy chord progressions. It's suitable for long drives, long flights, and long meditations on our state of being.
