Customer Reviews

ATB returns with some good album.. but not quite hes best.

ATB still keeps beign the best Trance artist out there, this album is very good, but is not quite as good as NO SILENCE. Sure, it has good beats, more songs than No Silence, but the 1st disc is brought down by having too many (about a lil more than half) of the songs with 100% Male-Voice samples.. Is it just me or doesnt everyone prefer a womans voice for Vocal Trance? I sure like female voices more. Now, the 2nd disc has some Non-Vocal Trance, similar to hes 1st albums Movin' Melodies and Two Worlds, its good, but if you already have hes 1st albums is nothin new, its the same good old Trance beats ATB has alwayz done.. If you dont have any of hes previous work, this is a good start, but i recommend No Silence if this is your 1st atb buy, if you already a long time fan of atb, this album isnt anything that will shock you, but its worth the money. Overall: a Worthy Purchase, but nothin u havent heard before from ATB, could get repetitive for some.

Electronic Album of the Year?

Atb (along with artists such as Chicane) has been my guide into electronic/trance/ambient ever since 1999. Although a lot has changed in the music scene since then, these artists have consistently been ahead of their time, releasing albums that not only allowed the artist to grow creatively, but also let their fans mature along with the work. This is not hands in the air, glowstick waving fare from nearly a decade ago. The songs are deeper, better constructed, and clearly have a "songwriter" vibe to them. Which all clearly demonstrates the evolution that has taken place steadily over the last seven years for Atb as a producer. It is fresh, the sound is immaculate, and the care for detail clearly demonstrates Atb's love for his music. It is not often in this day and age that successful artists who have become household names in the trance genre, have stuck their to roots, and continued to be artists first, and famous second. For that I give Atb immense credit, and hope that he continues down such a path for the future. As far as the album is concerned, it is clearly one of the best of the year, and deserves to be purchased. The first disc provides a suitable progression from the previous vocal stylings of "No Silence", and adds some lovely guitar melodies, and much deeper lyrics. Standouts, are "Desperate Religion", "Renegade" (stunning...one of his best songs), "Feel Alive", "Made of Glass", and the instrumental "Beautiful Worlds". The second disc, a chillout compilation, represents some of the best music Atb has ever produced. Every track on it is excellent, and you just have to listen from start to finish. It is this type of consistent quality, that has made Atb so popular, and for the right reasons. It is hands down, the best album I have heard so far this year. For longtime fans, just think of it in the context as "Two Worlds", produced seven years later, and obviously perfected.

Swoon.

I'm normally a filmscore kinda guy: Kerry Muzzey, Hans Zimmer, Patrick Doyle, those guys -- but there's something about ATB that just knocks my socks off every time. It's beautiful music.... it just FEELS like the beach. There are a couple atmospheric-type tunes on here that remind me of "LOVE ME" and "PREPARATIONS" from Kerry Muzzey's albums... check out the LUCID and FLUID CD's: if you like the atmosphery stuff from ATB, you'll like those as well.
