Bravo, A Hit!
A wonderful assortment of trombone playing....This group of instrumentalist deserves the widest recognition possible!! This recording contains some of the most beautiful trombone sounds I have ever heard. I purchased this CD for the Persichetti Serenade #6 (instrumentation:viola/cello/trombone), which features the outstanding trombone playing of Nico Schippers (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra). To my surprise, I have become particularly taken with the 1st track: Concertino for Bass Trombone & Trombone Choir (Eric Ewazen). The composition & the playing are "Pitch Perfect!" Bravo to The New Trombone Collective!!

This is a must-own album for trombonists. Over the past six years, the New Trombone Collective has become one of the most important chamber ensembles to the trombone world. Their trio of recordings have brought a new standard in excellence to the genre, in addition to bringing to light the many works written specifically for the ensemble. If you are a trombonist or aspire to play at a collegiate or higher level, this is a must-buy.
