iTunes Review

Eric Church wrote half of Terri Clark's "The World Needs A Drink" before setting out on his own, which may be why he's posing pensively with a bottle of whiskey and a glass on the cover of his debut album Sinners Like Me. Most of his songs roll with a similarly saucy swagger to Clark's hit, while others aspire to be red state/blue collar anthems by blending the same sin and redemption duality found in Nashville (where strip clubs and prayer chapels coexist side by side on the same city streets). "Before She Does" opens with throaty guitars that sound like they were borrowed from the intro to Bon Jovi's "Livin' On A Prayer" as Church's lyrical convictions draw a line in the sand and dare you to step over it. "How 'Bout You" plays with the same cocksure righteousness and a good ol' boy drawl that sounds more pronounced in the angrier moments. After coming off at times like Bill O'Reilly fronting the Charlie Daniels Band, "Pledge Allegiance To The Hag" is a welcome nonpartisan tribute to Merle Haggard (who also makes a vocal cameo here).

Eric Church is the Best Thing that has happened to Country Music in a long while!

I will be the 1st to say the 1st time I decided to go to an Eric Church concert I knew very little about him. But as soon as he stepped on stage it felt as though I was hit with a bolt of lightening!! The energy he puts out in his concerts is amazing! And afterwards I was given the chance to meet Eric. He is great with fans. Loves to chat with his fans. I bought Sinners Like Me right there because I just had to have it! Then got on the web and started learning about Eric the more I learned I found out he is on of the most amazingly remarkable people EVER! I then learned of another concert that I would be able to go. And let me tell you the second show was even better. And afterwards was given the chance to chat with Eric again. To my surprise he remeber me from before. that takes someone special to meet so many people in just two weeks time but yet rember a fan! I had promised my kids he would never rember me. they got a kick out of me being wrong. Eric even chatted with the kids :-). Well by this time I knew I would like to see him again. And I found out of a concert a couple hours away. So I got a friend to go with me to enjoy what I was. We went and that Show was the most AWSOME SHOW I have ever been 2! And after the show got yet another chance to chat with Eric and he let me and everyone else know that he knew me! Since then I have become very Active in getting involved with his Church Choir which I have met and learned to love everyone there. It is one special group of people. And Eric is giving us an amazing opperatunity to help communites as a group involved with him. I am so Excited. And can not wait to see what other GREAT SONGS and Idea Eric has in store for the world of Country Music Fans!

Rockin' Country by one that is on the way to the top

Every few years you hear a musician and know instantly that this one is the real deal (Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, etc.). Eric Church is the real deal - a singer songwriter about to explode on the coutry scene. He writes a lot of his own stuff, the songs resonate with the country audience, he puts on a great show, he is clearly passionate about what he is doing, and his music rocks - but it' still real country. See ya at the top.

Catchy lyrics, great meaning...

...are only a part of what makes this album great. The rockin', raw attitude of this album is what Nashville needed. Not some side-show, freak-act, garbage like Big & Rich. He's the best new thing to hit Nashville since Dierks Bentley. I can relate to "Guys Like Me". Matter of fact, that'd be my new theme song if I ever had one. "These Boots" is a great ballad, and "Sinners Like Me" is just one hell of a song.
