dance party!

United State of Electronica is hard to classify. The are probably best described as dance music for indie rockers. Taking influences from Daft Punk and Andrew WK, USE plays real instruments to create their non-stop four-on-the-floor beats. The vocoder is featured heavily (some would say to a fault, but I love it). After hearing USE, I checked out Daft Punk and their music just doesn't feel the same... USE has much more texture and is more raw and enjoyable. Digital Love is probably closest to USE's sound. USE is a septet with two guitarists, drummer, keyboard/vocoder, bass guitar, and drums. Amanda and Carly sing female vocals, which completes their wonderful sound. My favorite songs from the album are Emerald City, Open Your Eyes, and There's Always Music (although, I prefer the KEXP version of the latter). Keep an eye out for their next album early this year.

I can't wait till March 13

On March 13, 2006 U.S.E will be coming to SLC. This album is excellent. Tracks 1 - 5 are incredible! What a treat! I think U.S.E's timing on the music scene is perfect. They are just so freaking poppy and dancy.

NEED MORE FANS!!!!!!!

Wonderful alums Noah Weaver (keyboards/vocoder), Peter Sali (guitar/vocals), Jason Holstrom (guitar/vocals), and Jon e. Rock (drums/vocals) were joined by bassist Derek Chan and dancers/backup singers Amanda Okonek and Carly Nicklaus, and...
