A Portrait of Theresa Berganza
A delightful album of a great singer of the Spanish tradition. The Scarlatti arias and Spanish canziones make this album worth with the price; the standard repertoire make it priceless. She has a few equals, but no one is better. I have seen her in live performances of Il Barbiere and Carmen; she was also a very good actress. If you like mezzo coloraturas, this album is a MUST!
A Gorgeous Instrument
Flawless from bottom to top, Berganza has a classically beautiful lyric mezzo. The album is quite different than other collections, due in great part to the stunning Spanish repertoire. A must-have album.
