Customer Reviews

2.5 stars? Perhaps...

I'm writing this brief review not to offer any thorough analysis for this INXS record, but rather to merely give a better description than the one itunes has provided. itunes are right in not championing this as a fine recording but it should be noted that it is still an aesthetically realized record with a definite mood (albeit a more melancholic one) which I believe makes it different from their first record. The first one is all over the place with genre leaps and bright, shiny melodies. To say Underneath the Colours is "identical" to the first record is flat out wrong. Again, I'm not a big fan of this record, but the songs "Stay Young" and "Night of Rebellion" are definitely worth noting.

Solid Album

This is a very very good album. It leads right into Shabooh Shabaah in tone and style. Very thoughful album.

Good Album

The only song that I like on this album is "Stay Young." I gave it four stars because that song is phenominal. Good job INXS!

Formed: 1977 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australi

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s

Ultimately, these were the very things that made INXS into international superstars in the late '80s. By that time, the group had harnessed its hard rock, dance, and new wave influences into a sleek, stylish groove...
