Super cool with so many surprises

Every time I listen to David Cloyd's album I discover something new. His voice is beautiful and mysterious. I think I've listened to "She Asks Me" and "The First Sign" like 100 times already! You have to check out his version of Weird Fishes...crazy good too! I can't wait to discover more...thanks David. You rock.

brilliant - my favorite new record!

i originally bought this cd through a pre-release on david cloyd's website, but came back here for the radiohead cover. ever since this album came into my possession, it has been on constant rotation -- on my computer, on my ipod, and in my car. simply put, i love this record. it's one of the most original collections of songs i've heard in a very long time, and i can't believe this is the work of just one person. david cloyd's voice is heart-wrenchingly beautiful (at times, a cross between thom yorke & jeremy enigk). the acoustic "give your enemies..." is probably my favorite, but "the wire" (part sigur ros, part peter gabriel) is a close second. honestly, they're all incredible, and this is an absolutely fabulous new music find.

Radiohead, meet David Cloyd...

Surprise, surprise...I just became aware of this because of his haunting version of Weird Fishes (intimate and chilling), and have become wonderfully immersed in the whole album. Stand out tracks include "Never Run" and "Come Out Wherever You Are," each high-minded in a different way, while maintaining an authentic hi-fi/lo-fi, indie quality. Wonderful performances and production. I love the idea of Audio Liner Notes and Commentary (like a DVD) as well. Never seen that before. Just a terrific surprise all the way through.
