iTunes Review
Judas Priest had been steadily gaining ground as one of the leading practitioners of 1970’s heavy metal, and as was the tradition in those days a live album was the surest way to establish market dominance: a live album screamed you had arrived. While each studio album to this point had its charm and showed a growing evolution within the group as a tighter, more concise unit, none captured the group’s infernal live energy. In later years, singer Rob Halford admitted to dubbing his vocals due to a poor sound mix, but the band’s two-guitar firepower is left raw and untouched. Definitive Priest tracks such as “Sinner,” “The Ripper,” “Victim of Changes” and their two career-defining covers — Joan Baez’s (!) “Diamonds and Rust” and the Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac’s “Green Manalishi (with the Two-Pronged Crown)” — never sounded this loose and free in the studio. The band learned something from this experience. Why else would their next album, British Steel, be their first to capture this wilder side of the band in the studio? The expanded edition adds four tracks, including the band’s at-the-time newest classic “Hell Bent for Leather.”

Greatest
I have listened to this tape/cd/itunes for the last 30 years, and it still kicks... If you want unbelievable vocals, precise dual(ing) guitars, and true blast your socks off metal, then look no further. I truly believe that this is the best live metal recording ever. Halfords vocals are off the charts, and the way they put a guitar in each channel (left and right), make it a blast to listen to with headphones. If you like true original metal music, then this is the best...
OF METAL......
Priest is one of very few bands that can actually play songs live and surpass the intensity of the studio recorded versions. Totally evident on "Unleased in the East", Halford & Co. bring the definition of "Pro" into a clear perspective. Halford's flawless vocal range flanked by Tipton & Downing's onslaught of riffing & leadwork put in motion the evolution of Hard Rock's transformation into Metal as we know it. If new to Priest, buy this live album & the following to start with.... British Steel, Screaming for Vengence, Defenders of the Faith, Turbo and Painkiller. Painkiller has lead guitar work and vocals that I believe is unsurpassed by any. Priest Rule!!!!
The Best From Priest
If you only own one Priest album; this is the one to have. Pure ear-splitting metal. If you only purchase one song; go with Joan Baez's Diamonds and Rust. Once you listen to that, you'll buy the rest cause Priest slays that song like nobody ever did. Then again, Green Manalishi is pouding raw and another good choice and Sinner? Heck; what do I need to say? Curse and damn you, all you who fall at the hands of the Sinner!
