Midnite has established itself as the greatest roots reggae band in the world today, and this album—which was originally released in 1997, the first of their 17 albums since then— shows why. Lead singer Vaughn Benjamin has one of the most distinctive voices in reggae and is second to none in terms of lyrical firepower. Songs such as “Bushman,” “Love the Life You Live” and “Kaaba Stone” are anthems of word, sound and power.
Midnite's First Album
Midnite is possibly the best thing to happen to reggae since Bob Marley. Vaughn Benjamin's voice is amazing, and much more important, it is crucial that people hear what this voice has to say. Each of these songs bring consciousness beyond consciousness. The sound is stripped down but sounds full. Keyboards, Bass, Guitar and Drums hitting out live roots rhythms for your meditation or concentration. Midnite keeps it real. Check it out, then get the rest of their music...they never get old.
