iTunes Review

“I can be a blessing…I can be a curse,” admits Jaci Velasquez in “The Real Me,” a key track on Unspoken. After achieving early success as a teenaged Christian hitmaker, she was ready for a little self-revelation. Along with confessions of imperfection, Velasquez uses Unspoken to add darker colors to her zesty mix of Latin and pop sounds. It’s not that she’s turned away from expansive praise numbers — tracks like the buoyant “You’re My God,” the swirling “He” and the slow-burning “Jesus Is” are unambiguous expressions of reverence. What’s new this time are songs dealing with ordinary disappointments and heartaches, like the slightly mysterious “Something." Though Jaci asserts her emerging talents as a songwriter here, she also includes material by others, including the stirring title song, co-written by — no kidding — U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch. As on past albums, her vocals range from soaring to sultry, adding a sensual grounding to even the most heaven-directed lyric. Unspoken is ultimately a very mainstream Christian pop release, but by showing a few scars, Velasquez makes the album’s declarations of faith all the more powerful.

YAY!

Unpsoken is an awesome album. personally, my favorite one out of all her albums she has made in the past. it's very pretty. simple, yet not too simple that it loses your interest and such. awesome!

Her Best

This is Jaci's best CD. Enough said. Each of the songs are different with a different tune, which I had the problem of running into with "Beauty Has Grace". All the songs sounded the same. So do the songs on her new album. This is original and refreshing. My favorites have to be "Glass House", "I'm Alive", "The Real Me", and "Your My God". But all of them are great. If I could recommend anyone one of Jaci's albums, this would be the one. You won't be disappointed.

Where I Belong

This song is truly a blessing & inspiring song! Thank You Jaci

Jacquelyn Davette Velasquez, born in the early '80s, began singing at the age of ten and performed at the White House just three years later. It's hardly surprising, then, that after several more years performing and recording with her family's worship ministry, she gained a record contract on her own. By late 1995, Jaci Velasquez signed with the Christian recording label Myrrh and found a number one hit (on the CCM charts) with her Spanish-tinged single, "If This World." Her debut album, Heavenly...
