Until the Whole World Knows

Weaving an intricate portrait of a genuine life of worship, this album expresses a heart of adoration and passion that is rarely graced with such a voice. Each song has a unique sound and style, owing largely to the variety of student songwriters and musicians. However, the coherence of the album is found in the continuity of its message: that even when the world seems unfair or life painful, the God of love is still King of the earth, savior of the lost and long-forgotten, healer of the brokenhearted, hope to the hopeless and dying, grace to the weary, and worthy of praise.

Light of the World: a personal favorite, celebrates the joy of being known and called by the God of the Universe. and it's catchy.

Carry Now/Until the Whole World Knows: these two are inseparable. Carry Now begins with "Who will fight for silenced cries/who will give the broken hope/and who will bring salvation's call/He took our sin and cleansed us all." This continues, appropriately enough, into "Until the Whole World Knows/that our God reigns." These two go on repeat pretty often.

God of Love: just buy it. Seriously it's that good.

Save Us Now: more of a compilation of prayers and individually voiced melodies than a structured song - doesn't stand alone very well, but forms and integral part of the album. My favorite part is the ending refrain: "Only your love can save us now/nothing but the blood of Jesus." Bridges the gap between a prayer of despair and of faith, ultimately affirming that because of Christ there is hope in every situation

Persecution: "Oh that we would not despise purity that's brought through fire but fix our eyes upon the King as He prepares His bride..." Recognizing that the life surrendered to God does not always parallel the American dream may be unpleasant, but the privilege of walking with the Lord and carrying His message of redemption isn't about personal success but rather the vow that "we will be as those who boldly come before the throne and sing the elder's song / Holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was and who will be." This song is an anthem of worship that is truly anointed - but sing at your own risk :)

Hymn about Redemption: The hope of the gospel put into song. Simple but beautiful. "Calvary's song a free man's melody/we can know the Father's heart."

Recommendation: buy the whole album - even if only to get "Over All the Earth" and sing along with "we will rise/we will rise/with all creation testify."
It's worth every cent.
