Sunshine, smiles, raw punk energy, love and peace = Uzuhi

Uzuhi’s music is hard to describe, and that makes it beautiful. Every person will hear something different; maybe post-Punk rawness, elegant classically trained musical talent, soulful and jazzy highs that make you want to dance, rowdy hints of underground and old school hip hop drum riffs, the compulsory crowd participation invoked by a classic rock anthem… Uzuhi's music contains all these things and more and continues to evolve, and it is thanks to the nature of the band and the message of their music: love and smiles – positive energy.
It starts with the band members. Each one of them is a genuinely beautiful person that has a lot of love in their hearts for their fellow man. Watching them live you realize that each show is a chance for not only them to make new friends, but everyone in the audience as well. They are incredibly giving and engaging with their audience and fans – and even the most anal of our species is forced to smile by the end of an Uzuhi show.
It is an amazing purity that shines in the music, something that is all encompassing, and embracing. Uniquely Japanese - no, uniquely human. That influence is felt in their music, unique, but universally accessible by everyone. You will find a song you like on this album regardless of taste if you give it a chance.
The local playgrounds of NYC and those that inhabit them, successors trying to keep the spirit of old nurseries (like old Coney Island High and CBGB's) alive know about Uzuhi, and it warms my heart to see other local playgrounds around the country giving them a chance to shine and spread smiles.
Keep an eye on Uzuhi, they are doing great things. Uzuhi = world peace.
