Not only does GRAMMY champ Taylor Swift have a cameo in this endearing flick, she also opens the soundtrack with “Today Was a Fairytale,” a sweet serenade that’s sure to woo any woman who ever went through a childhood princess phase. (Swift’s uplifting “Jump Then Fall” also shows up here). Peacenik heartthrob Michael Franti provides a playfully affectionate jam with the Dancehall- dipped “Say Hey (I Love You).” Similarly, Jamiroquai and Jools Holland approximate old-school reggae on a bouncy version of the 1935 classic “I’m In the Mood for Love,” sounding like the duo filled up on vintage Trojan label ska records before letting the tape roll. Troubled chanteuse Amy Winehouse joins in the fun with her old-school rocksteady remake of Sam Cooke’s 1961 hit “Cupid.” Willie Nelson gives the My Fair Lady gem “On The Street Where You Live” a Texas-tinged jazz feel, not unlike his outing with Wynton Marsalis on 2008’s Two Men With the Blues. Cocktail crooners the Bird And The Bee deliver a loungy rendition of the Goffin/King hit made famous by Herman’s Hermit’s, “I’m Into Something Good.”
