Excellent Album, On Par with London Calling

This is Generation X's best album. You can hear the band expanding their musical style and subject matter - "Night of the Cadillacs" is pretty hard rock, "Valley of the Dolls" is totally post-punk new wave, and I'd expect "The Prime of Kenny Silvers" 1 & 2 from a band like The Who.

With all that, "Running with the Boss Sound" and "King Rocker" are both great punk songs, "King Rocker's" energy is something equivalent to their first album's "Ready, Steady, Go" in awesomeness.

I don't really understand why this album isn't more popular than it is. Maybe it doesn't quite have the charm of the other great 1979 punk album, "London Calling," but I'd say the creativity and pop sensibilities of this punk album are its equal.
