Is Someone Trying to Get Sued?
I have been a long-time fan of Juan Luis Guerra, even through his most recent Tropical/Christian release. With that said, I join with the other posters here: this does not sound like Juan Luis, any more than the version of Suavemente sounds like it is being sung by Elvis Crespo. I'll bet that ViaCancun is owned by the same people that put out those attrocious "Tribute . . ." albums. Save your money and go after the real thing: if you are unfamiliar with Juan Luis, please get Grandes Exitos . . . lacks some songs I like, but a good primer. As for Elvis Crespo, iTunes carries his Urbano, which contains some excellent merengue, especially the quirky Bandida.
"Suavemente"
Your Right, that is not Him. Voice and Music is Different. This is not the original song. It's a remake. Buy it from His Original Cd, Not from this Merengue Mix.
Dissapointment
I regret now buying "suavemente". Like everyone else I realized that the song was sang by someone else. Whoever is selling this CD unless they have the rights or a contract, they are asking to be sued. This is a total rip off and besides, if you want merengue there should other options. There's even itunes essentials, which has the real artists.
