English Post- Hardcore...
at it's best.
what... just... huh?
the downside to MMiSL is also their upside. they're so techy, it's generally tough to get a grasp of what's actually going on in a song, however, they're so techy and intricate that literally each song is a well-crafted audible masterpiece (in my opinion, of course).
if you're into the whole "post" whatever-the-hell, i bet you'll probably like this. heck, even if you're a musician yourself (especially drummers) and want to hear some pure talent, you'll probably like this. if you don't like the way a song sounds, wait about 45 seconds.
yes, the vocalist can turn some folks off, however, i really appreciate how he still finds a melody to sing over all the chaos (at times) instead of resorting to screaming all the time. to focus on the music more, the CD is mixed/mastered extremely well. everything is balanced and a huge honorable mention to the bass guitar player who is A) freaking amazing and B) has one of the best sounding bass tones i've ever heard.
for me, this is a straight listen through. as a whole, each song flows, and as individual, you'll find yourself immersed in how well-written this material is.
truly a masterpiece. RIP MMiSL.
An instant Favorite
unfortunately Ive found out about these guys a little late, but they really have become one of the most played on my rotation. Friggen awesome.
