Customer Reviews

There was no Phoenix show the night after this!

This show was the tour-ender for the Fall '96 tour. Anyhoo, this show has (had) it all. An uber-strong first set, weighed down by such heavy hitters as 2001 (the longest-running 2001 to-date then), YEM with a great donuts-donuts-donuts vocal jam (Fishman likes blueberry donuts), and only the 2nd Peaches in a looooong time. The second set is absolutely whamola- Mike's>Simple>Hood>Wekkapug is almost a solid hour, with the Weekapug featuring some vicious start-stop jamming. I thought that Sweet Adeline would be the end of the set, but then BAM! GTBT outta nowhere. And then there's the encore. All the way to Vegas everyone in the car with me had to suffer through my repeated proclamations of "You're without a doubt gonna hear 'Suspicious Minds' and 'Suzy'". A little Elvis in Vegas is a given, and Suzy is, indeed, about as faithful as a slot machine! Les, Larry and multi-Elvii, a couple of yodelers, and Fishman do their part to help little Jimmy and poor 'ol Posternutbag make it all the way to Vegas- and what a reward they receive! Highly reccommended listening!

The Spent Long Years

God i miss it.

Phish is sick live!!!

Although this is not there best live album (A live one is my favorite), this album is a thorough, far reaching, experimental and at sometimes just strange album which has Phish playing some of their rarer songs live. Trey Anastasio's playing is amazing, as expected, and classic tracks like "You Enjoy Myself" have never been better than here.

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s

During the early '90s, Phish emerged as heirs to the Grateful Dead's throne. Although their music was somewhat similar to the Dead's sound — an eclectic, free-form rock & roll encompassing elements of folk, jazz, country, bluegrass, and pop — the group adhered more to jazz-derived improvisation than folk tradition. Moreover, they sported a looser, goofier attitude; after all, their drummer regularly played a vacuum during their concerts. However, Phish's main claim as the inheritors...
