...the egg...no corners for you

True, none of the songs are more than 2 minutes, but that's the beauty of it. TMBG find a way to not only write a song a day for each venue they go to, but also they have the talent to create different and engaging rythyms that keep you interested for a short time, but it feels like the song goes on and on. The live songs falter once and a while, but all in all, this is a good, short/sweet album. Congrats, Johns.

AWESOME

This is awesome, nuff said. You know what I mean? Richards.

Oh, This Is New...

Not that it's not good or anything. I'm just very suprised to see THIS on iTunes. I thought it was a "website-only" thing. But while it's here, i'll write. I will not judge all the songs by themselves, though I will say that the best (In Situ) songs are Raleigh, Towson, Philadelphia (of course, I'm Philadelphian), Memphis, and Santa Cruz. The rest are good, and the studio versions sometimes beat out the live. The 5 bonus songs are nice, too. I may not sound too enthusiastic about it, but it is a collection of pure TMBG creativity and bizarro-ness. Get the DVD combo.

Musically, John Flansburgh and John Linnell borrowed from everywhere, but their freewheeling eclecticism was enhanced by their arcane, geeky sense of humor. The duo would reference everything from British Invasion to Tin...
