Don't you just love Zala Sportif
Sam Mangwana & Franco together on this recording. Check out Zala Sportif, note when they change the pace (at 2:45 min) and the full force of le TP OK Jazz band with guitars, horns and drums come together and cruise and highway speeds for the rest of the song. It is precisely this sound that made sam & franco great together like great food and wine. Listen to uncle pez and douse your ears in the music that is franco & sam.

There's no doubt that Franco was, in every sense of the word, a big man in African music. Sometimes weighing in at 300 pounds, he also earned his nickname as "The Sorcerer of the Guitar," making it sing like no one before, with effortless, fluid lines. Also an accomplished composer and vocalist, Francois Luambo Makiadi remains a towering figure even in death, probably the greatest the Congo (later Zaire) has ever produced, and as the leader of the long-running O.K. Jazz group, he was one of the fathers...
